Which practice set to use, and when

Three kinds of practice do three different jobs. Topic sets find the gap: the car bank here is 12 topic sets, 366 questions grouped by subject, and General Knowledge (82), Intersections (54) and Traffic Signs (51) are the three largest. Work the topics you keep getting wrong. Full practice tests put the question mix in the real test's shape: 9 tests, 405 questions, so you learn the feel of a full sitting. Sitting it for a motorbike or a truck

Sitting the learners test for a motorbike or a truck means a different question bank, and both are free to practise here. For riders, the motorbike bank is 12 topic sets (549 questions), 13 practice tests (585 questions) and 8 mocks (360 questions) — enough to rehearse every part of the knowledge side before you book. For heavy vehicles, the real Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test is 45 questions in two versions — rigid (classes LR, MR, HR) and combination (classes HC, MC), per Transport for NSW. You can sit the learners test online or in person, and the choice changes the format and the cost.
